📘 Common RP Terms and Abbreviations
If you're new to roleplay, understanding the basic terms is essential. These are used constantly in conversations, admin situations, and faction applications. Learning them will help you blend in and improve your RP quality.
📖 In-Character (IC): Everything your character says, does, and experiences in the roleplay world. This includes conversations, emotions, actions, and decisions made by your character.
📵 Out-of-Character (OOC): Anything that happens outside the roleplay. This is YOU as the player, not your character. Use brackets like ((OOC)) or OOC chat commands (e.g. /b).
🔑 Common RP Terms:- PG (Powergaming): Forcing actions on other players without giving them a chance to respond.
Example: /me punches the man and knocks him out instantly. - MG (Metagaming): Using OOC knowledge for IC advantage.
Example: You saw someone's name above their head and call them by it IC. - RK (Revenge Killing): Killing someone who previously killed your character. Once your character dies, they forget everything that happened leading to that death.
- CK (Character Kill): Permanent death of a character. Usually approved by admins or agreed upon in high-stakes RP scenarios.
- DM (Deathmatch): Killing or attacking without proper IC reason or roleplay. This breaks immersion and is punishable.
- IC/OOC Mixing: Using OOC knowledge or feelings in IC interactions or vice versa. Always keep them separate.
🗣 Useful Chat Commands:- /me – Describes your character's actions.
Example: /me takes a sip of water and places the bottle on the table. - /do – Describes surroundings or asks for confirmation from other players.
Example: /do The table is clean and organized. Is your character sitting? - /b – Local OOC chat. Use only when necessary.
Example: /b Sorry, I lagged for a second.
