📘 #4: RP Commands & Etiquette
Using the right commands and following proper etiquette ensures smooth and immersive roleplay for everyone. This post covers the essential commands and important dos and don'ts.
🔹 Essential RP Commands- /me – Describe your character's actions. Use this to narrate what your character is doing.
Example: /me checks his watch nervously. - /do – Describe the environment or ask questions to clarify the scene.
Example: /do The door is locked. Can your character pick the lock? - /b – Local out-of-character chat. Use only when necessary to communicate OOC info nearby.
Example: /b Sorry, lagging a bit. - /w – Whisper to another player in-character. Use for secret or private conversations.
Example: /w John I have the info you need. - /do and /me should always be used in third person and past tense.
🔹 RP Etiquette (Dos and Don'ts)- Do stay in-character as much as possible.
- Do respect other players and their RP choices.
- Do use commands properly to enhance storytelling.
- Do communicate OOC only when absolutely necessary and keep it brief.
- Don't Powergame (PG) — don't force actions on others without their consent.
- Don't Metagame (MG) — don't use OOC knowledge to influence IC decisions.
- Don't break immersion by mixing IC and OOC.
- Don't spam commands or excessive OOC chat.
