The San Andreas Police Department (SAPD) is the state police and main law enforcement agency servicing the state of San Andreas with the objective of serving and protecting the citizens and the state.

The San Andreas Police Department covers a wide range of law enforcement arms in San Andreas and presides over various jurisdictions in the state. The San Andreas Police Department is broken up into several branches each with different areas to patrol:
• Los Santos Police Department (LSPD) - serving the city of Los Santos.
• San Fierro Police Department (SFPD) - serving the city of San Fierro.
• Las Venturas Police Department (LVPD) - serving the city of Las Venturas.
• San Andreas State Patrol (SASP) - a state patrol force serving rural areas of San Andreas.

While the San Andreas Police Department has no physical location, each of the three city police departments has a headquarters:
• The headquarters of the Los Santos Police Department is located in Pershing Square.
• The headquarters of the San Fierro Police Department is located in Downtown.
• The headquarters of the Las Venturas Police Department is located in Roca Escalante.

Throughout all the cities of the state, the San Andreas Police Department as a whole functions with the help of several divisions which all enforce the law in several ways through all parts of the state's infrastructure:
• Motorcycle Division (MD) - a division of the SAPD that patrols the main three cities on motorcycles.
• Gang and Narcotics Division (GND) - a division of the SAPD that cracks down on gang activity and narcotics.
• Air Support Division (ASD) - a division of the SAPD that uses air-support as a means of pursuing suspects and/or performing special tactical work.
• Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) - a division of the SAPD that performs tactical work, trained for high-risk situations involving barricaded suspects, hostages, high-risk arrest warrants and/or raids.
