Welcome to the rules, regulations and how to join section of the Grove Street Families board. This organization primarily focuses ONLY on roleplay, if you're here to rob banks and casinos, only /oskinning to get into shootouts, you're out of luck as we aim to keep this organization as realistic as the RP standards allow. This necessarily doesn't mean we do not get into shootouts and robberies, as we still do, but at a lower scale than what most organizations in the past have done. If you're up for the task and want to learn how to properly develop a character or learn about gang politics, roleplay in general, get to know players on the server, you're absolutely welcome to join.

JOINING:

To join this organization, you must have atleast a little bit of knowledge on how to RP, even if you've only RPed just to rob a store before, aslong as you can handle the criticism that might come from the leader/co of the organization of how you should or shouldn't type and/or act ICly, you're welcome to join. Joining this organization, you grant permission for the leader/coleaders of the organization to CK your character indefinetely for reasons that they seem fit.

Making your first character/introduction

We aim to portray 2025 gang politics, so ignore the fuzz of "white guy or asian guy in black gang isn't allowed" while we still may restrict certain amount of other races in the organization as we do aim to be a predominately african american gang, you're free to try. To join, your character must reside in ganton, even if you OOCly do not own a house in ganton, you may NPC any of the vacated houses in Ganton as yours, going the extra mile to get a property set up is also very appreciated.

WHAT NOT TO DO WHEN FIRST TRYING TO JOIN

As ganton is based on Compton, LA, a primarily poor part of the country, we do not deem it fit for your character to be driving in lavish vehicles and flaunting money at the very beginning, to reach even a fraction of that point, your character must be very very developed, these traits are monitored by the leader and co of the organization. Do not worry if you actually do have over a million dollars in your bank account, aslong as you keep that OOC, and RP being poor, below average, or average, it is completely fine.

AGE

Most adults who're mature enough, see how ridicilous and dangerous the gang life really is and stay away from it, while young people are susceptible to join for either financial aid, the status, or the respect, which brings them in to the gang life, seeing the big homies wear shiny watches, drive fast cars, act and talk all cool, and have such a high status of both fear and respect. The same big homies live where they live, the young people get interested and such slowly get roped into the life. As such, we advise your character to join no younger than 14 upto 17, you may age up your character as the organization progresses but not on a weekly basis.

BIG HOMIE/OG

Big homie is the guy that everyone knows, but doesn't know, you know what I mean? People around ganton respect/fear them for the horrid stuff he has seen on the streets, he's been involved in the gang for years, taking bullets, jail times in some cases, prison time for the gang and he keeps the money supply running, constantly in contact with other dealers for arms or narcotics.

BABY GANGSTER/BG

Baby gangster is a member who's proved his worth, whether it's the amount of kills he has or how loyal he is to the gang, he's very respected and is the go-to person to go to to get s*** done.

JUMPED IN/PUT ON/MEMBER

Congrats on getting your rag, you've spent enough time and gained enough respect from those who sent you to go to the store for booze that you're worthy of getting put on

LOCAL

As the title says, you're just a local who lives in Ganton, you may not even want to be involved in the gang life and primarily just hang around with the other kids on the block.

CHARACTERS:

Due to the lower playerbase and restricted amount of member slots, we recommend having more than 1 character involved in the organization. This is not mandatory yet is a welcoming touch as many do get bored of their character.

As you join, you must stick to your character or characters only in /oskin, no going in /rp with your GSF /rpname in order to not tarnish said character, as this organization can and will interact with other players in /rp to keep it refreshing. And seeing your character's RPname in an infernus will be taken ICly and may involve consequences.

I AIN'T READIN ALL THAT/THERE'S SO MUCH TO TAKE IN

Do not worry, even if you didn't read any of what I've written or half-assed read everything, this organization is still, just an organization, but be warned as you join, you will be critiqued, warned, advised and taught, but this is EXACTLY what this organization is for... To learn, adapt, overcome noobish behaviors, seeing the art in character development, why gang members act the way they do, how gangbanging has evolved since the 90s, the politics, and so much more. If you question our research on how we know about all of this, @kermit, @joanus, @eclair have been involved in mainly gang RP since 2017-now, we've learned a lot (yes we do have lives), found various forms of how to research, have had actual gang members in discord calls who are deeply in the life show the ropes, instagram account digging, slangs on both the east and west side of Los Angeles, California and more. We understand all this can be too much for a light RP server which is why we are very lenient on players who're new to RP yet want to learn.
