📘 #4: RP Commands & Etiquette

Using the right commands and following proper etiquette ensures smooth and immersive roleplay for everyone. This post covers the essential commands and important dos and don'ts.

🔹 Essential RP Commands

  • /me – Describe your character's actions. Use this to narrate what your character is doing.
Example: /me checks his watch nervously.
  • /do – Describe the environment or ask questions to clarify the scene.
Example: /do The door is locked. Can your character pick the lock?
  • /b – Local out-of-character chat. Use only when necessary to communicate OOC info nearby.
Example: /b Sorry, lagging a bit.
  • /w – Whisper to another player in-character. Use for secret or private conversations.
Example: /w John I have the info you need.
  • /do and /me should always be used in third person and past tense.

🔹 RP Etiquette (Dos and Don'ts)

  • Do stay in-character as much as possible.
  • Do respect other players and their RP choices.
  • Do use commands properly to enhance storytelling.
  • Do communicate OOC only when absolutely necessary and keep it brief.
  • Don't Powergame (PG) — don't force actions on others without their consent.
  • Don't Metagame (MG) — don't use OOC knowledge to influence IC decisions.
  • Don't break immersion by mixing IC and OOC.
  • Don't spam commands or excessive OOC chat.
